Performers Bios Peter Buzogany

PETER BUZOGANY A.M.R.C., B.M.

A student of Leon Zaitseff at Mount Royal College, Peter went on to the University of Miami where he studied with George Zazofsky and Thomas Moore. He is Principal Second Violinist of the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra and plays with Symphonie Kootenays and the Okanagan Symphony.

He teaches violin through his studio at Angel Music Ltd.

Donna DeLong

DONNA DELONG B.Sc. (Minor in Music)

Raised in a musical family, Donna first studied cello with Ernst Friedlander and later attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston on scholarship. She has played with the Victoria, Bellingham, and Grande Prairie Symphonies. She has been Principal Cellist with the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra and has played with the Symphonie Kootenays.

She is an active freelancer in Calgary.

Carle Duguid

CARLE DUGUID PhD

Carle has played professionally in the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Roswell Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (principal second violin), and the Southern Alberta Chamber Orchestra. He has also served as concert master and conductor of the Medicine Hat Symphony Orchestra. He has played in a number of musical productions, and conducted productions of Sweet Charity, Mame and Brigadoon. He is a member of AB4 - a contemporary Christian music ensemble. Carle has earned his PhD in String Pedagogy and thus brings a great depth of experience and knowledge as our new Second Violinist. We are very lucky to have him on board. Since 1992, Carle has been active in the family music business - Scot's Music Centre Ltd.

Carmen Wise

CARMEN WISE BA, M. Ed.

Carmen has performed with orchestras and chamber groups in Canada, the Philippines and California, frequently in the position of Principal Violist, a position she held most recently with the Symphonie Kootenays and the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra. Carmen's teachers include John Thompson, Philippe Etter, and Gerald Stannick.

Carmen is Director of Heartstrings Studio in Calgary. She teaches both the violin and the viola with the Suzuki Method. She is Chair of the Calgary Suzuki Strings Association.

Anne Scott

ANNE SCOTT

Anne, who now lives in Calgary raising a young family, was a well-known performer in Edmonton, Alberta, as well as in Ottawa and Oakville, Ontario. She plays regularly with the Symphonie Kootenays and the Prince George Symphony and is Principal Cellist with the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra. The Sunrise feels very fortunate to have such an expert and dynamic musician in our midst.

She is in high demand as a freelance cellist for a variety of ensemble sizes for both classical and non-classical music.

George Fenwick

GEORGE FENWICK B.Mus., M.L.S.

George is a performer, composer and arranger. George was formerly First Violinist for the Chilliwack Quartet. He has previously worked as a childrens' librarian for many years.

When not composing and performing, George manages full-time duties at the Canadian Music Centre.

Stephania Luciuk

STEPHANIA LUCIUK LLB, LLM

Stephania did most of her music training in Regina, where she studied with Dr. Howard Leyton-Brown. She has been a member of the Regina, Ottawa and Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestras, Nova Sinfonia (Halifax), the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra and several university orchestras. A versatile musician, Stephania plays both violin and viola.

Stephania is active in the Ukrainian community and arranges and orchestrates Ukrainian folk music for instrumental and choral ensembles. She has performed and recorded Ukrainian instrumental and choral music in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Stephania has had to resign as our permanent Second Violinist due to family and professional demands on her time.
